About
Studio 99 is an architectural practice founded in 2022, based in Volos, Greece. Our studio brings together a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, designers, artists and craftsmen who share the inspiration and desire to use architecture as a tool to improve everyday life and as a means of forming new social experiences.
Our work strives to operate between a wide range of fields like architecture, urbanism, landscape and interior architecture, product, graphic, digital design and art, creating a space where the relationship between these disciplines shapes our ideas and projects.

We operate at any type of scale, aiming to evolve a coherent process to deal with each occasion and its special requirements, while developing a distinctive concept and way of approaching each project. Our work is a constant procedure in process finding the proper moment to get materialized.
The design process and our drawing tools seek to combine and mix new digital media along with analog practices, aiming to create architectural and aesthetic principles produced by the various elements of each place, maintaining and enhancing its memory and identity, while focusing towards new practices and morphologies. The sense of the place we inhabit, whether feral or human-made, its surroundings and relationship to others, is crucial in order to develop our design concept.

Facing the environmental crisis and understanding architecture’s scientific approach, studio 99 emphasizes on developing sustainable design and construction as an obligation to the future of the built environment.
We are currently involved in numerous projects in Greece and Europe and our work has gained Honorable Mentions and Prizes, as well as has received numerous distinctions in competitions for public projects some of which are now under development.

Urban Landscapes
Dimitris Stefanakis
studied architecture at the University of Thessaly Architecture School, Greece. He worked for several studios in Volos, Athens and Barcelona and his is now receiving his Master Degree on “Architectural Theory, Space & Design” in the NTUA of Athens. In Barcelona he worked in the office EMBT Miralles Tagliabue while he was also engaged as Professor Assistant at NTUA on Architectural Design.
He has participated in many international competitions in China, Italy, Spain and Greece, in which many of the projects were winners, finalists and received honorable mentions. Along with EMBT he participated in the Biennale of Venice in 2021.
